Each step has a clear purpose and a time frame. You move on once the step has been affirmed with you.
Introduction
Getting to know the Alliance
1–3 monthsGet to know the Alliance New England family, team and vision, Alliance Missions, and the Church Planting Pathway itself.
Follow
“Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people.” Matthew 4:19
3–6 monthsFollow Jesus and fish for people: intimacy with and a clear call from Jesus, with a harvest focus that helps pre-Christians encounter the Bible and Jesus.
Multiply
“Go and make disciples of all nations.” Matthew 28:19
3 months–1 yearGo into the world and multiply disciples: Discovery Bible Study groups, core values, prayer retreats and a written prospectus.
Team
“On this rock I will build my church.” Matthew 16:18
3 months–1 yearBuild the team that builds the church: 20 or more committed people, team development that matches the church vision, three or more groups continuing, an evangelism and outreach strategy, locations considered, a more fully designed church model and scale plans, and the next pastor or planter identified.
Scale
Like a City on a Hill · Matthew 5:14
3–6 monthsScale out your new church like a city on a hill… with scale team development, inviting through social media and networks, giving, guest follow-up and disciple-making strategies, a gathering strategy and next steps, the next planting location envisioned, and the next planter moved into Step 1.
Health
“You will be my witnesses.” Acts 1:8
1–5 yearsBe my witness: keep reaching and discipling, design an Acts 1:8 strategy, and join in ANE’s collective mission through giving and gatherings.
As you progress through the pathway, ANE provides growing faithfulness-based funding, fundraising matches and church planting grants.
