OUR MISSION

Alliance New England is the regional office of the Christian & Missionary Alliance, which serves 50 churches located throughout the six New England States.  Our churches are located in urban, suburban and rural areas; range in size from 30 to 1,200+, worship in multiple languages and approach ministry in a myriad of ways.  Together our churches are working to bring the hope of Jesus Christ and the gospel to all parts of the region. Our deep desire is to see healthy, thriving churches who are a source of truth and light in their communities, and instrumental in bringing Jesus to the lost world around them.

LOCAL

In Matthew 28:19, Jesus tells his followers they are to “Go and make disciples.” That call remains the same to this day. Discipleship and mission, in the ways Jesus lived out and taught, must be embedded into the DNA of our churches and region so that they will remain strong beyond the passage of time, leaders and generations.  Without a healthy, reproducing base of local C&MA churches, the C&MA’s capacity for global mission cannot be sustained.

REGIONAL

We understand God’s church to be a missional church, a community that is multiplied and sent to places where the gospel needs to go.  We also know the current reality of the church in New England – one of the least-reached regions in North America – where significant plateau or decline is the reality for many local congregations.  Planting vibrant, disciple-making churches in the region is imperative if we are to change the trajectory.

GLOBAL

The Great Commission is our ultimate purpose. All believers and churches are called to advance God’s Kingdom so that all peoples of the world may have access to the gospel. The world-wide work of the C&MA relies on the engagement and support of our local congregations for financial, spiritual, relational, and organizational needs and should be the focus of our local churches’ global mission involvement.

WHO IS THE CHRISTIAN AND MISSIONARY ALLIANCE?

The Alliance was birthed in 1881 when Pastor A.B.Simpson organized a small group of believers devoted to experiencing Jesus in His fullness and making him known to New York City’s marginalized dock workers.

Today, we continue to carry out All of Jesus for All the World vision by caring for suffering and overlooked people through 2,000 U.S. churches and more than 700 international workers serving in 70 countries.
