We are currently seeking candidates for the following positions:
Lead Pastor
Bethel Alliance Church is seeking a Lead Pastor to shepherd a Christ-centered congregation that is committed to biblical teaching, authentic community, and reaching the people of western Maine with the gospel.
Bethel Alliance Church is a Christian and Missionary Alliance congregation with 41 members and average Sunday attendance of approximately 75. Founded around 1969 and part of the C&MA since 1979, the church is known for biblical teaching, contemporary worship, generous care, and faithful prayer. Strong ministries include youth and children’s programs, Bible studies, Coffeehouse Conversations, a monthly Community Supper serving roughly 100–150 guests, missions engagement, and a gifted worship team that includes teens.
Primary Responsibilities
Preach and teach the Word of God faithfully, clearly, and relevantly.
Shepherd the congregation through counseling, visitation, prayer, and pastoral care.
Lead with the elders and facilitate the Board of Ministries; supervise the part-time administrative assistant and equip volunteer leaders.
Develop younger and future leaders as longtime leaders transition responsibilities.
Strengthen evangelism, community relationships, and youth and children’s ministries—especially with the middle/high school directly across the street.
Model an empowering, servant-hearted style that invites others into ministry.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
A spiritually mature follower of Jesus with strong character, compassion, humility, energy, and a healthy sense of humor.
Sound biblical knowledge and demonstrated effectiveness in preaching, leader development, and evangelism.
Able to connect across generations and serve fruitfully in a small-town, rural Maine setting.
Appropriate Education, ordination, and five or more years of pastoral experience are preferred; C&MA licensing requirements must be met.
Bethel is a welcoming mountain village in western Maine, surrounded by the lakes, rivers, forests, and peaks of the Mahoosuc region. Its walkable village, local businesses, Gould Academy, and Maine Mineral & Gem Museum blend rural character with culture and community life. Four-season recreation includes skiing at nearby Sunday River; hiking in the Bethel Community Forest and Grafton Notch area; and biking, fishing, paddling, and camping. Portland and Portland International Jetport are about 72 miles away, and North Conway, New Hampshire, is about 42 miles away—giving residents practical access to city amenities, air travel, shopping, dining, and more of the White Mountains.

Lead Pastor | Planting Pastor
North Avenue Alliance Church is seeking a Lead Pastor to shepherd an existing congregation while leading the church toward a renewed expression of ministry that reaches the Burlington community.
This is a unique opportunity for a pastor with the heart of a shepherd, the vision of a church planter, and the mindset of an entrepreneur. The successful candidate will lovingly care for the current congregation while building trust, casting vision, and leading the church through a season of thoughtful renewal and mission.
We believe the Gospel never changes, but the ways we engage our community must continually adapt. Our desire is to develop a ministry that extends beyond Sunday gatherings through relational evangelism, discipleship, and innovative business-as-mission initiatives. Worship Pastor/Director - Center Conway, NH
Journey Church, a vibrant and growing church of 350 located in beautiful Conway, New Hampshire, is seeking a dynamic Worship Pastor/Director to join our team! This role is vital to the ministry of our church and will make a real impact on the lives of our people, our church, and our community.
As our Worship Pastor/Director, you'll be responsible for developing the worship team and overseeing all aspects of planning and executing audio and visual elements for our Sunday worship services and special services. You'll recruit and train new worship team members, organize weekly rehearsals, select appropriate songs, and manage equipment used in worship. You'll work hands-on, using and developing skills for project management, event planning, developing leaders, and evaluation to ensure long-term ministry health.
In addition to your direct ministry work, you'll also be an active member of our weekly staff team meetings, contributing to planning, awareness, and leadership development. You'll have the chance to work with a great team of like-minded individuals who are all dedicated to serving our church community.
Conway, New Hampshire, is a beautiful, four-season destination in the White Mountains and the region's major commercial and tourism center, drawing people to the mountains for skiing, hiking, climbing, and other outdoor activities. For residents, it retains its small-town feel and yet has the amenities of a suburban center, with a bustling restaurant and retail scene, good schools, services, and recreation for families.
This position requires a bachelor's degree, certification in ministry or an equivalent, and some experience in worship ministry in the local church context. We are looking for candidates who have a vibrant relationship with Jesus, a collaborative approach and team mentality, and a track record of consistency and reliability.

Pastoral Residencies
Alliance New England is the regional office of the Christian & Missionary Alliance, which serves 50 churches located throughout the six New England States. Our churches are located in urban, suburban and rural areas; range in size from 30 to 1,200+, worship in multiple languages and approach ministry in a myriad of ways. Yet together they are working to bring the hope of Jesus Christ and the gospel to all parts of the region.
A residency is an opportunity to cultivate the art of pastoral ministry, gain practical experience and develop key skills while serving in a healthy congregation. Through the approximately two-year experience, a resident is immersed in the life and leadership of the church, with the opportunity to support, lead and develop ministries, serving alongside the senior pastor and lay leaders, all while building their foundation for service to Christ and his Church. This is all conducted with great intentionality, but also in a spirit of providing time and opportunity for observation, experiences, mentorship, development and candid feedback. A pastoral resident may focus on a particular ministry area (i.e. working with youth), multiple ministries (i.e. youth & worship) or in generalized pastoral ministry.
Our residencies are compensated positions and some residencies will include housing. Candidates should have a strong calling for pastoral leadership, a passion for helping churches in New England reach the unchurched, and a deep desire for mentored development. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Bible, Pastoral Ministry or other ministry-related field is preferred, however, opportunities to obtain this are also available through the program. All candidates must be able to meet licensing requirements with the Christian & Missionary Alliance. At the completion of the residency, the intention is that the resident would seek and find placement in Alliance New England for further ministry as a staff pastor, lead or solo pastor, or church planter.

Pastor - Providence, RI
International Alliance Church (IAC), an urban church located in Providence, RI is seeking a bi-vocational or part time pastor to provide spiritual and pastoral leadership to a congregation that is in transition. Founded in 1980, IAC has had a very effective ministry with the Cambodian population in and around Providence, Rhode Island. As much of that population has gradually moved away from the area, the church now finds itself in what has become largely a Hispanic and African American neighborhood. A new vision has been cast to reach these neighbors with the gospel and to fully embrace the name of the church by becoming a truly international church, welcoming worshippers from all ethnicities and walks of life. To this end, we are seeking an English-speaking leader who is comfortable and experienced in a multi-ethnic and cross-cultural environment. Someone who can cast vision, cross boundaries, build cohesion and unity, and live incarnationally in an urban setting. As part of their vision to reach and serve their neighborhood, IAC offered its sizable facility for use as a C&MA Envision site. Plans are now underway for staffing and launching of this ministry.
Providence is the capital and most populous city (191,000 people) in the state of Rhode Island. It is a compact, thriving city that offers vibrant business, educational and cultural opportunities within the backdrop of New England history. IAC is located in the Elmwood neighborhood of Providence, one of the city’s most ethnically, culturally and racially diverse neighborhoods. More than 52% of its residents were born in another country. This area also faces the typical urban economic challenges, including the children, , Elmwood is also a community with considerable assets, including a historic district with beautifully restored Victorian homes; two thriving and well-traveled commercial corridors; and a number of parks and community gardens.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Bible, Pastoral Ministry or other ministry-related field and five years’ experience in vocational ministry preferred. All candidates must be able to meet licensing and ordination requirements with the C&MA.
